"Smoke & Stars"
Fifteen years have slipped away, yet I still see that scene—
Two strangers under city haze, where midnight felt serene.
We spoke in smoke and laughter's hue, the hours softly spun,
Who would have guessed that fleeting night was where our lives begun?
No grand design, no master plan—just chance beneath the skies,
Two souls that met through smoke and stars, still laugh where love replies.

"Soup for Two"
Our first big date — the Melting Pot, I didn't know the cost,
Played it cool with a student card, pretending I wasn't lost.
Two hundred bucks for melted cheese, my budget torn in two,
But I would've spent the world that night just to sit across from you.
I think of Bottega Louie still, that endless, hungry line,
But portobello fries were free — small mercies so divine.
We laughed until the waiting turned to part of what we knew,
That every delay worth its while, when I was stuck with you.

"The Movies We Forgot"
We didn't need much back in those days, just laughter, time, and chance,
A couple seats in darkened rooms, our fingers brushing hands.
We'd sneak from film to film again, no money, just the thrill,
Of losing hours side by side while the world stood soft and still.
A hundred screens, a thousand plots, all faded from my mind,
I can't recall a single name — the stories left behind.
But that was never what we chased, beneath the silver hue,
It wasn't movies that I loved — it was the time I spent with you.

"A Whole New World"
Our twenties passed in flashes bright, a blur of endless nights,
From rented homes to mountain air, to neon city lights.
We chased the sun through crowded bars, through laughter, song, and spin,
Each fleeting hour, a fevered dream we couldn't wait to live again.
From camping tents to Vegas haze, even stretching to foreign lands,
We built a life of fleeting highs, writing memories in the sand.
And somehow every wild night's end would bring us back again—
To NRB, where you would sing, and time forgot to spin.
You'd take the mic, the crowd would fade, your voice would find the air,
A melody that wrapped the night, soft, bold, beyond compare.
I knew we'd test time itself, no matter how many years unfurled—
In that last song, I always knew — you were my whole new world.

"Before You"
Before you came, my world was small — convenience on repeat,
Hot pockets, drive-thru dinners late, the same four city streets.
My days were gray, a quiet hum, no spark to fan the flame,
Then love walked in with open eyes — and nothing stayed the same.
You fed my world with wonder's spice, with warmth I'd never known,
Each meal, each mile, a gentle proof — I'd never walk alone.
We journeyed across the world, with laughter and curiosity as our guide,
A creature bound by habit once, now walking by your side.
Life before you lacked the hue, the depth, the pulse, the view,
Before you came, I never knew — the colors life could hold.

"Spain in the Rain"
I still remember Spain that year, our passports fresh and new,
You fell ill beneath gray skies, and I didn't know what to do.
I sprinted through those cobbled streets, my Spanish rough and cracked,
To find you something warm to eat — McDonald's in a paper sack.
We laughed beneath the falling rain, though you were pale and cold,
'Cause I swore I knew the way to go — too stubborn to be told.
From Casa Batlló's swirling walls to Sagrada's holy spires,
We wandered wide-eyed through the streets, our hearts their own desires.
Portugal was less divine — the food we tried was grim,
But Barcelona's tapas plates made up for all of them.
Broke kids in hostels, counting coins, yet rich in what we found,
A milestone made in Europe and love that knew no bounds.

"The Wealth of Us"
If love were made of moments kept, I'd fill a thousand halls,
Each one adorned with bits of us upon its painted walls.
The years have slipped like gentle rain, too quick to count or view,
And still, through all that's come and gone, I'm deeply lost in you.
I once believed I stood alone, self-made and unafraid,
But distance proved the cruelest trick my stubborn heart had played.
A week without your voice, your laugh — I swear I'd fade and die,
For every strength I thought was mine was born from you and I.
You'd say you shaped the man I am — I'd laugh, pretend it's lies,
But looking back, it's clear as day, I guess love does make you blind.
I may not wear a crown of gold, my riches and wealth yet to arrive,
But every day, without fail, you make me feel like the richest man alive.
